On Saturday, May 9th, 2009, I awoke thinking of my mother, having lost her a few years ago.Since she’s been gone, Mother's Day for me has constantly been a day of mixed feelings: I am both happy for my wife of 29 years whose mother and father are both still living and doing well, while in another regard, I'm sad, because I knew that the following morning, I would not be making that important phone call to my own mother (before my three brothers and sister had a chance to).She would laugh and say “I knew it was you; you rise with the rooster.”
